Pre-Migration Architecture Audit

Before writing a single redirect rule, you must capture the current state of the live site. We crawl the domain to identify every indexable URL, evaluate the current internal linking structure, and export historical traffic and backlink data. This establishes the baseline against which the migration will be measured.

The Baseline Rule

You cannot protect traffic you haven't documented.

URL Mapping & Redirect Strategy

The core of any successful migration is the 301 redirect map. Every existing URL must be mapped to its exact equivalent on the new architecture. We do not tolerate 404s or blanket redirects to the homepage. Each redirect must preserve topical relevance and PageRank flow.

Staging Validation

Migrations fail when errors are discovered after DNS propagation. We deploy our technical crawlers against the staging environment, validating the redirect map, canonical tags, robots.txt directives, and XML sitemaps before the new site is exposed to Googlebot.

Post-Launch Monitoring

Once the new site goes live, we monitor server logs and Google Search Console data in real-time. We verify that Googlebot is following the 301 redirects, crawling the new architecture efficiently, and that no unmapped 404s are bleeding authority.
